The Omegon planisphere is the ideal tool for learning to recognise stars and constellations. It is your guide to the stars.
The planisphere consists of a round astronomical map with the celestial pole at its centre. The astronomical map shows all the stars, constellations and objects such as nebulae (see below) visible in a given area. The sky does not always look the same: stars rise and set, and in summer you will see a different sky than in autumn, winter or spring.
For this reason, the planisphere has another disc at the top of the astronomical map. The disc has a transparent opening, the horizon opening, which represents the segment of the sky visible at a given date and time. You can easily adjust the planisphere to this date and time.
The advantages of the planisphere:
- it represents the sky at any time of the year
- precisely crafted, carefully designed, mature engineering, economical
- you can easily adjust the desired date and time
- contains more than 700 stars and about 300 objects for binoculars: deep space objects such as galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, double stars, etc., to be discovered with the naked eye or at least with ordinary binoculars
- suitable for ages 10 and up
- Will last a lifetime... or even longer!
- For 42º north latitude
