Tune up your astro camera! This adaptor replaces the front piece of your CMOS camera. (Replace the front piece in a clean, dust-free environment! Otherwise, dust may get into the sensor chamber.) There are two reasons why you might want to replace it:
CS-mount instead of C-mount!
Many astro cameras are equipped with the universal C-mount connection. Small wide-angle lenses can be attached here. However, most of these lenses require the 5 mm shorter CS-mount connection to focus! By replacing the C-mount front piece with the CS-mount front piece offered here, you can finally use the small wide-angle lenses.
IR-Cut Filter!
This front piece is equipped with a permanently installed IR cut filter. This removes the infrared part of the light. This is particularly useful with refractors or small wide-angle lenses to obtain a sharper image.
