It is always possible for telescope optics to go out of alignment. Constant transport can mean the OTAs are subject to shocks, which can lead to the optical lens or mirror systems losing their collimation. In extreme cases, such misalignment can lead to a blurred image. That is why there are special eyepieces and laser units that can be used to bring the telescope’s optical system back into the correct state of collimation.
